Secretary of State Wills – Craven County (Quick index with direct links to NCDCR)

by | Articles, Craven County Genealogy, Wills & Estate Records | 0 comments

For your convenience, here’s a quick index in both order by surname and regular order (for SEO) with links to all of the Secretary of State Wills for Craven County that have been published by North Carolina Digital Collections.

PLEASE NOTE: This is NOT a complete list of all Craven County Willls. There are plenty of other will collections for Craven County. These are the Secretary of State Wills.

The description for these wills is provided by NCDCR as follows:

North Carolina wills from 1663 to 1789. These are loose original wills probated in the province. After 1760, most original wills were kept by the clerk in the county in which they were probated, though there are some wills after 1760 in the collection. These wills are indexed in the Mitchell Will Index categorized with “SS/AR”.

If no year is given, it’s because NCDCR doesn’t have a year listed for that will. If the letters in the quick-jump menu below are grayed out, that means there are no surnames beginning with that letter.

A couple of years ago I removed all advertising on this site from Google Adsense, as well as any sort of tracking scripts from Facebook or Google or any other parties. I invited visitors to chip in a few dollars to help offset the cost of hosting and maintaining the site. Many folks did step up and have offered to make donations, but now I own the server that the site is on and hosting is no longer an issue. BUT if you do feel helped out by the material here, please consider donating a few dollars to one of my absolute favorite genealogical resources, the Kellenberger Room at the New Bern Library.

Please send a check payable to New Bern Craven Co. Public Library with Kellenberger Room in the memo line to:
